Upstream Montessori is an elementary school in the woods and lakes country of northern Minnesota. Montessori’s approach to including the great outdoors in education is a wonderful match with the school’s physical connection to the beginning of the mighty Mississippi River, numerous lakes, forests, and wildlife. Their aim was to make the classroom equal parts indoors and outdoors.
